July 25, 1964 - Present
Cristina Colli was born in and grew up in Italy. She has dreamed of being an artist since she was 11 years old. Though she didn't attend an art school, she picked up knowledge from the internet which helped her start her career. Cristina offers online classes about visual story telling and helping her students develop their own photography style. She worked as an interior designer for 8 years in Dublin before becoming a photographer. She now lives in Oxfordshire, England with her husband and two cats. Cristina Colli describes her style in two words- visual storytelling. She says that photography for her is "all about transforming one moment in time to tell a whole story." She loves to take pictures of flowers in different arrangements. She said: "I take my photographs in natural light, to create still life images that feel authentic, evoke emotions, and tell stories." Her photos are very clean cut and beautiful. They are simple and captivating. As most of the same reasons above, Cristina Colli loves to evoke emotion in her photography. She likes her photos to be able to tell a story. Cristina once said in an interview : "I don't identify my photos as fitting into a category or style- I like them to be their own and hold their own." She likes simple thing though. She enjoys living a simple life and reflects that in her photography. Cristina has influenced my photography in a couple ways. She likes to take photos that are simple and beautiful. When I take photos I try and capture that same thing too. I like to try and tell a story in my photos without them being too complex and overbearing. She also loves to take photos of flowers and that is something we have in common. Below are the photos I have taken :

MorningCristina Colli took the photo "Morning" and I took "Hello Sunshine". I didn't try to copy her photos exactly because we are different people. We see things differently and are different photographers. Instead, I tried to get the idea of the photo and then make it my own. Both are pictures of simple flowers. On mine, I have an all white background instead of a chalky marble looking one.
SunnyEarly Bird"Early Bird" and "Risen" are not very similar, but in idea I think they are. I loved the combination and flow of the flowers in Cristina's photo and I tried to replicate it. Both include a good mixture of colors that combine well together. My photo does not include the smaller flowers and petals flying away (even though it looks amazing and compliments the photo nicely). Also, the backgrounds are different.
My Personal Artist StatementI am very very pleased with how my photos came out. I really enjoyed doing this project and recreating the work of a photographer I liked. That's one of the reasons this is such a good project because people get to pick what they want to do. I even added in a couple of extra photos to my website! My photos are very clean and simple yet beautiful. I hope they tell a story to anyone who sees them (it will be a different story for everyone). I hope these photos will make people as happy as they make me!

Hello SunshineGardensThe photos "Sunny" and "Garden" are a little more similar. They both involve different flowers lined up and flowing well together. My photo has an all white background and Cristina has a chalky looking marble background. I personally like my photo more than I like hers just because it is more exciting. Cristina has more open space in her photo and mine is focusing on the flowers.
